Universal Silicone

Universal Silicone is an exterior or interior multipurpose, one-part moisture curing silicone sealant, used around door and window frames, sidings, and glass in window frames.

Universal Silicone is Mulco's one-part moisture-curing silicone for joints around door frames, window frames, siding and glass that move. It meets ASTM C920 Type S Grade NS Use NT, G, O, skins in 10 to 15 minutes, cures through in 24 hours at room temperature, and reaches full cure inside a week.

What is Mulco Universal Silicone used for?

Joints around door frames, window frames, siding and glass that are subject to movement, inside or out. Mulco says it adheres to and seals ceramic, glass, most metals, painted wood, most fibreglass and certain plastics.

Is Mulco Universal Silicone paintable?

How fast does Mulco Universal Silicone set?

The surface skins in 10 to 15 minutes at 21 °C and 50% relative humidity, the silicone cures at 24 hours at room temperature, and full cure comes in under a week. Mulco's own application paragraph puts full cure at 7 days.

How cold can you apply Mulco Universal Silicone?

The Mulco data sheet linked below gives -37 to 65 °C in its application-temperature specification and application instructions, but -20 to 50 °C in Features/Benefits. Confirm the intended application range with Mulco before using either extreme. The separately stated cured-service range is -57 to 204 °C.

What colours and sizes does Mulco Universal Silicone come in?

Clear and white, both in a 300 mL tube. Mulco puts the coverage at 8 metres with a 7 mm bead. The VOC content is under 23 g/L by ASTM D2369.

Limitations from Mulco

Do not apply on bare metal subject to rusting. Do not use on areas where asphalt was previously applied. Not intended for joints that will be submerged or exposed to abrasion (foot traffic).
